Did you know that alcohol use has steadily increased in the population of 60 years old and older, in the past two decades, especially among women? In fact, there has been a 20% increase on average of women who daily drink or binge drink who are over 60.
Older adults generally experience the effects of alcohol more quickly than when they were younger
According to the “dietary guidelines for Americans, 2020-2025” drinking less is always more healthy than drinking more. The guidelines suggest men lower their drinking to two drinks or less per day and women to one drink or less per day.
