Walking through a therapy session can help you to relax and open up. In fact, the link between exercise and mood is strong and usually within five minutes after moderate exercise you get a mood-enhancement effect. Studies continue to show the improving effect of exercise on depression. There is also research showing that exercise can be a tool for treating anxiety by teaching you new ways to control your breath and associated heart rate with feelings of safety.
