We have to learn to accept even our most uncomfortable emotions. Here are some universal unpleasant emotions that we all want to avoid and not feel: Sadness, Shame, Helplessness, Anger, Vulnerability, Embarrassment, Disappointment, and Frustration. But learning to name these feelings and let them move through us is a healthier way to deal with these emotions. We often hide these emotions with control, demands, or nasty remarks. Instead of using that try identifying the feeling and see if you can just let it move through you. Studies show emotions arise like waves and last about 90 seconds. If you ride your emotions like the waves in an ocean you might not get swept away by them.
