High Anxiety

 

Anxiety! It’s all around us these days. Anxiety is not bad, but uncomfortable. It tells us that something is important to us. It’s the moment anxiety begins to take over our lives, that we need a change. It is not the problem itself that causes anxiety as much as the significance YOU have assigned to it. So what can we do about the anxiety that stirs within us? ⁣

1. Bring yourself to the present moment and acknowledge that you are okay. ⁣
2. Plunge your hands into cold water or splash cold water on your face⁣
3. Clench you’re fists and slowly lessen the grip with each exhaled breath until your hand is completely open. ⁣
4. Repeat a calming phrase and BREATHE DEEP. ⁣
5. Acknowledge what you are feeling. Identify it as anxiety ⁣
6. Take a break from social media ⁣
7. Use grounding skills⁣
8. Write your concerns, then challenge them ⁣
9. Face whatever is causing your anxiety ⁣
